Supporting Our Local Community Together
At the start of 2019 we invited you to join Made in the Shade Northshore in support of our local community here in St. Tammany Parish and so many of you did! Thanks to you we had a great 2nd Quarter and were able to donate $5 for every window we covered to The Samaritan Center!
Just in case you don’t know all the wonderful things The Samaritan Center provides to our Northshore community, here are a few:
- Emergency Assistance with Food – The Samaritan Center is in partnership with Second Harvest Foodbank to help out local families in need of food and personal hygiene items – they even have fresh food from local farmers in season!
- Limited assistance with utilities, rent, transportation and medicine
- Gardening and Healthy Cooking Classes for the community
- Clothing and Household Items are available through Gran’s Attic Thrift Shop
- School Supplies/Uniforms for children in need
Right now the Samaritan Center needs your help with providing school supplies for the upcoming school year. Just $75 will supply 3 school uniforms, shoes and supplies to a child in need in St. Tammany Parish. They need donations no later than August 2nd. To donate go here:
So thanks again to all our wonderful customers. Just know that when you do business with Made in the Shade, whether you buy one blind or an entire house full of shades or plantation shutters, you are supporting your local community here on the Northshore.
