Window Treatments for Every Situation
During these grey days of winter, I live for every scrap of blue sky and sunshine that comes along. In the South, we don’t just enjoy an abundance of light, we have a RELATIONSHIP with it. Our feelings may run a wide gamut from love (waterside afternoons, sunset glows) to hate (faded carpets, spring glare) but the sun touches us here in some way, every single day.
As much as we want it around, bringing that light into our homes can sometimes get a little tricky. How, when and where it shines in, gets filtered and/or blocked affects everything from aesthetics to comfort, utility bills (don’t get me started about AC!!!) and privacy. At Made in the Shade, our whole purpose is really about giving customers a better relationship with light. We do that by:

One of the ways Made in the Shade really stands apart is through our custom window treatments. We offer:
• Four types of blinds
• Eight kinds of indoor shades (and an exterior patio option)
• Shutters to fit every size and shape window (yes, even the weird ones)
• Lined drapes, side panels and sheers (along with matching pillows if you need them)
All of the above can be MOTORIZED – which is THE bell to end all bells-and-whistles (anyone who’s ever wrestled with a stubborn blind over the sink knows what I’m talking about). There’s so much to say about the benefits of motorizing that I’ll have to save it for a later blog!
Although it’s not what we’re typically known for, we also design and create custom faux iron grilles. These are perfect for transom windows, sidelights, arches, specialty shapes, built-ins, room dividers, ceiling accents and pretty much any outdoor need you can dream up (I sense yet another blog coming on…). Finally, for one last element to pull a room together, we also offer custom area rugs.
